Combined John McCarty and Carrie Cada have over 60 years involved in the horse industry,   both beginning their horse experience before the age of 10.  In addition, while the vast majority of those years have been anchored in the Arabian horse breed and industry, they have garnered experience throughout their careers in many different breeds and disciplines including Quarter Horses, Draft breeds, Reining horses, Morgans, Saddlebreds and Thoroughbreds.

John McCarty began his involvement in as a youth rider in Oklahoma where he grew up, winning his first US National top ten at the age of 13.  After college he decided to pursue a career training horses.  Throughout his career John has worked for some of the most prominent and well respected trainers and breeding farms in the Arabian breed including Gene Lacroix, Gordon Potts and Cedar Ridge Arabians.  Johns focus and favorite aspects of his job are finding and developing young prospects full of undeveloped talent into quality show horses capable of winning at a national level, and finding the right horse to fit his clients needs….. Whether that’s a prospect with hopes of adding value as it reaches its potential, or a quality mare to add to a clients broodmare band, or the right show horse to carry an amateur into the show ring and win roses.

Carrie Cada grew up in Lincoln, NE where she got her first pony at the age of 5.  By the age of 13 she also had a US National top ten award.  During her Youth and amateur career she won 11 National championships in several divisions including Reining, Saddle Seat Equitation, Hunter pleasure…. Carrie’s years of experience as a youth and amateur rider herself give her unique insight into what those riders need both from their horses and from their coach in order to make the very best presentation in the show ring.  Carrie loves watching her youth and amateur riders pursue their dreams and reach for their goals.  Sometimes that’s the first ride on a new horse, other times its a great ride in a national championship class… she enjoys watching them use all the knowledge they’ve gained and achieve their goals.

John and Carrie opened McCarty Ltd in the spring of 2012, and began accepting client horses in training at their location in Omaha.  John and Carrie train primarily Arabian and Half Arabian English and Hunter pleasure show horses, with a strong emphasis on starting young prospects and developing junior and amateur riders.  They are also starting a small breeding program of their own to produce the beautiful, athletic, and winning Arabian horses they love to train and show.
